CeCe is five years old. Like a lot of five year olds, her parents, her friends, her toys and her playtime are the constants in her life. Unfortunately, she has another constant: type 1 diabetes. CeCe was diagnosed when she was only 14 months old, and her family’s life was immediately thrown into complete upheaval by the permanent addition of an insidious disease.

We are fiercely committed to funding research to find a cure for diabetes and its complications. Since JDRF was founded in 1970 by parents of children with type 1 diabetes, we have awarded more than $1 billion to diabetes research, including over $137 million in Fiscal Year 2007 alone.
